UNEXPECTED Max Schenzel enters rehab after failing probation drug tests EXCLUSIVE
Unexpected mom Chloe Mendoza recently attended her senior prom without Ava’s dad Max Schenzel, despite Max previously posting that he had invited Chloe to the event and he would be sharing photos. Now we know a potential reason Max was unable to attend! The 19-year-old reality star is currently in rehab after failing multiple drug tests as part of his probation from a felony theft conviction late last year.
According to court documents from March, Max “tested positive for Fentanyl on three occasions and recently started intensive outpatient treatment.”
As we previously reported, Max was sentenced to three months in jail, but the jail time was delayed so that Max would be better able to “make quick and deliberate progress towards his financial obligations.” Those financial obligations included being a dad, as well as paying more than $1,000 in restitution to the 77-year-old grandmother of a friend that he stole money and credit cards from while she was sleeping.
Max’s delayed jail time was scheduled to begin this month, but that sentence has been delayed yet again so that Max will be able to complete his treatment.
On a positive note, Max has managed to abide by the other requirements of his sentencing. He has “provided verification of employment, completed forty community restitution hours and paid his restitution in full.”
It doesn’t appear as though Max’s admitted drug issues and rehab treatment was enough to cause a split between him and Chloe. The court acknowledged Max’s drug issues and rehabilitation efforts in late March, which was well before Max made his post about inviting Chloe to prom earlier this month. He also posted a photo with Chloe and daughter Ava on April 13, and Chloe responded with three hearts.
It is still possible that his treatment and/or drug issues impacted his ability to attend her prom, or even his relationship with Chloe over the past few weeks. Since the April 13 photo, neither Chloe nor Max have shared any posts about each other on social media.
Fans of Unexpected will more than likely be able to see all of this play out when Chloe and Max return for a new season on TLC. We do not have a premiere date for Unexpected Season 3, but expect one soon.
