It appears as though Unexpected star Chloe Mendoza and Max Schenzel are legally allowed to be with each other again as the two pose for a series of photos together with their daughter Ava and share them on Instagram!
Both Chloe and Max posted galleries of photos from the same shoot earlier today. “The most blessed man on earth ? ?❤️,” Matt captioned his gallery, while Chloe wrote: “First date, kinda nervous.” Chloe’s caption confused some of her followers, and she later clarified in the comments that it was just a joke.
Here are both galleries:
The very public reunion comes less than six months after Chloe’s mother filed an Injunction Against Harassment against Max after an alleged altercation in which Max “put hands on” Chloe. That injunction prevented Max from having any contact with Chloe or her family, except for “text messages with Chloe Mendoza, but only for the purpose of discussing the parties’ minor child.”
Clearly, the Injunction must no longer be active for Chloe and Max to post the photos together, but it is unclear at this point how or why the Injunction was lifted. If it had been exactly six months, that might make sense — or if Chloe had turned 18, which I don’t believe happens until early July. There is also the seemingly unlikely possibility that Chloe’s mom Jessica lifted it, perhaps after realizing it was doing little to break the couple up?
UPDATE – We have confirmed that the Injunction Against Harassment is no longer active, and apparently it was Chloe’s mom Jessica who made it happen. It’s unclear what her motivation was, but I assume that I wasn’t far off in assuming that she knew it wasn’t really keeping Chloe and Max apart.
Violating the Injunction would have had very serious repercussions for Max, who is currently on probation after pleading guilty to felony theft stemming from an incident in June in which he took cash, a casino voucher, and two credit cards from the purse of his friend’s sleeping 77-year-old grandmother. Max was also sentenced to three months in jail, but his incarceration was delayed until May.
It is our understanding that Chloe and Max have remained “together” over the past five-plus months, even if they were not allowed to be together physically. On Christmas, Max shared a photo of Chloe and Ava on Instagram and wrote this message:
Merry Christmas! These two girls right here make up the bundle of love that we call family. They truly mean the world to me and have been there every second. No man ever feels the true joy of Christmas until he has his own family. Merry Christmas to everyone and happy holidays!!!❤️???
This past weekend, Max shared a gallery of images, including photos with Chloe (although it is unclear if they are recent), and he continued to fawn over Chloe and Ava: “So much love for these girls that make up my own family! Their so gorgeous and perfect in every way. So lucky to have you two?❤️”
If you are curious as to whether or not Chloe and Max (and Ava) will be included on Unexpected Season 3, we can confirm that they were invited to come back. However, it is unclear what their decision was. I assume that Chloe and Max would want to return, but she is still not 18, and returning for another season might be a hard sell for her mother Jessica. We will be sure to update if we find out for sure one way or the other.
For all you Max Schenzel superfans out there thinking that he is looking extra Shenzelegant in the pictures with Chloe and Ava, you can potentially own a piece of his suave Schensemble! Max recently advertised the “never worn” Gucci belt that he is wearing in the photo for sale on his Instagram story. The post is from a couple days ago, though, so I am unsure if it is still available:
So what do you think about Chloe and Max still being together? Do you think they have truly found their happily ever after?
