Teen Mom 2’s Jo Rivera drops first official rap video
We’ve been all over Teen Mom 2 Kailyn Lowry’s baby-daddy Jonathan “Jo” Rivera and his attempts to launch a career in the rap game. He’s posted a number of videos to YouTube, but it’s all been free form until now.
That’s right, Jo (stage name N.I.C.K. B) has released an official music video for a song called “Unthinkable Remix.” In the clip Rivera shows some of his rap skills as well as some of his bedroom skills as he spends a little quality time with a hot chick he met at a convenience store. [UPDATE – That’s Jo’s girlfriend Vee! As of June 23, 2012 the two have been together for 12 months!] Check it out!
TMZ was told that Jo kept it real and filmed the bedroom scene at a Hampton Inn in Jersey. (There is no info as to where the gangsta pink flowery tree scenes were shot.)
So what does Jo’s baby mama Kailyn Lowry have to say about all this hip-hoppegery?
“I think he has his priorities mixed up right now. He should be spending quality time with his son while he’s not working.”
We were pretty complimentary of Jo’s skills at the mic before, but this time around it seems a bit forced. The good lines don’t stand a chance when put beside things like “My appetite for you is becoming obese” and “You’re lookin’ luscious like an avocado from Mexico.” Plus, the trying-to-hard sultry bed scenes are just a little on the laughable side.
It reminded me of another reality show star (albeit a fake reality star) who also tried to capitalize on his fame with a sultry music video. Here’s David Brent (Ricky Gervais) from the original British version of The Office with his own “N.I.C.K B” version of the Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes (and Simply Red) R&B song “If You Don’t Know Me By Now:”
(That was pretty harsh, I know.)
