Stephen Colbert Late Show 1

One week from tonight–that’s Monday, September 8th, Stephen Colbert will debut his brand-new iteration of The Late Show over on CBS. In order to build joyous anticipation, Colbert has announced his first two weeks’ worth of guests. Who are Stephen Colbert’s first guests on The Late Show? The answer…may surprise you.

Stephen Colbert Late Show 2

Per CBS, Stephen Colbert’s first guests on his very first show will be none other than Mr. George Clooney, who’ll find himself buddied up with former Florida governor and current US presidential contender Jeb Bush. The musical guest that night? None other than Mr. Jon Batiste and his band the Stray Humans. Batiste and the Humans are Colbert’s house band, though the official notice does promise some further “special guests. Given that it will be Stephen Colbert’s first Late Show, we can likely expect at least a handful of wacky antics.

Things will stay lively throughout the week, as Stephen Colbert’s first Late Show guests mix and mingle large (if not the largest) names in entertainment, politics, and business. The Wednesday, September 9th show will see Scarlett Johansson and Tesla CEO Elon Musk drop by for interviews, and Kendrick Lamar perform a song. On Thursday, September 10th, it’s Uber CEO Travis Kalanick’s turn in the guest’s chair, and Toby Keith’s turn in front of the mic.

Finally, the Friday, September 11th edition of the Late Show will feature current “Funniest Person in the World” title holder Amy Schumer, plus Stephen King, and band Troubled Waters.

Week Two promises to continue the slew of famous faces and surprises. Here’s the rundown:

Monday, September 14th: Emily Blunt; Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer

Tuesday, September 15th: Jake Gyllenhaal

Wednesday, September 16th: Kevin “President Underwood” Spacey; Carol Burnett; comedians Abbi Jacobson and Illana Glazer; and none other than Willie Nelson

Several of Stephen Colbert’s first Late Show guests will visit during week two, but have yet to be assigned Thursday or Friday dates. Among those names? United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon; Lupita Nyong’o; Vermont Senator and current presidential aspirant Bernie Sanders; and Naomi Watts.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert premieres one week from tonight, on Tuesday, September 8th, at 11:35 EST.
