VH1 just released the official synopsis for Love & Hip Hop Atlanta‘s new season — and it contains an intriguing tidbit regarding a Scrapp DeLeon early release. According to the network’s breakdown, Scrapp — who, according to our most recent report, isn’t scheduled for release until 2021 — is about to become a free man, and there will be consequences for the rest of the cast:
Tommie’s past may bite her in the ass. Scrapp DeLeon is scheduled for an early release which means Momma KK is back in the picture. Last we saw her was via Skype at the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta season six reunion where she and Tommie got into it. The drama continues because now KK is close with a former friend of Tommie’s and you know how she feels about loyalty. Hopefully this does not distract Miss Tommie Lee from pursuing her rap career.
Scrapp could get out early — but there’s a catch
However, we checked Scrapp’s official incarceration record with the Georgia Department of Corrections, which told a slightly different story. There is indeed a Scrapp DeLeon early release already on the books: a little less than a year ago, Scrapp had his sentence on drug trafficking charges shortened by 15 years.
But there’s been no further reduction since then; the GDOC still lists Scrapp’s maximum possible release date as January 20, 2021, which is what it was when Scrapp DeLeon early release rumors began before LHHATL Season 6 as well.
In addition, Scrapp has been transferred once more. He’s currently serving his sentence at Autry State Prison near Pelham GA. Scrapp had a new mug shot taken after being transferred:

So, while Scrapp is technically scheduled for an early release, it’s not a new development in his case. And a 2021 release wouldn’t get him out in time to rejoin the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Season 7 cast — that is, unless Scrapp’s forthcoming appeal is successful. Here’s the man’s call for help, which came a couple of weeks ago on his official Instagram page:

It seems like I can’t get nobody on the phone and not one person is looking at their text. So here we go- Scrapps returning to the parole board in a couple of weeks his lawyer is requesting character letters from all friends, fans, family, it’s very important for the board to know that Scrapp has never been violent or in a gang. Please if you know him write a letter to whom it may concern, make sure you sign it and your number it won’t be accepted if you don’t have that on it.
