Howard Stern sure has a weird way of expressing he’s a fan of Sam Smith’s music: During a weekend countdown, the shock jock really attacked Sam’s looks before complimenting his voice. No offense, right?
“You know what I like about the guy? He’s an ugly motherf**ker. He’s fat. Is he gay? He looks gay to me, not that anybody looks gay, but he does seem effeminate,” Howard said on his SiriusXM show. “I like that he’s chubby and gay. That’s why I love him. He’s one of those guys I feel like, he’s really good but I feel like that will be his only hit song — beautiful voice.”
Howard added he would like to congratulate Sam on “beating the odds” because “he’s fat and he’s gay” and little girls still “worship him.” Is that the most backhanded compliment ever or what? Take a listen to the full segment here…
Of course, inflammatory comments like those are Howard’s schtick. Still, some are saying he went too far. Sam, though, isn’t taking the bait. Here’s what he tweeted after the show…
