REPORT Amanda Bynes suicidal, police called to her home

Last night, police were reportedly called to Amanda Bynes’ home in New York City. Earlier in the day, the former actress tweeted a handful of topless photos of herself, but by the evening, her mood took a turn for the worse — at least according to Hollywood publicist Jonathan Jaxson. He claims Amanda called him, telling him she wanted to take her own life.

“Amanda had called me and we had a private conversation, but it was clear to me that she was high on drugs,” Jonathan revealed to Radar Online. “Then, she said that she didn’t want to live anymore. I took that as that she wanted to kill herself. I freaked out.” Jonathan then tweeted to police, saying that Amanda was “soooo messed up on drugs.”

“I had heard stuff like this from Amanda before,” Jonathan said. “But this time, I had a mental image of her in a bathtub, wanting to hurt herself. Then I saw a photo of her in her bathroom that she’d posted on Twitter. I freaked. I did not know what else to do.”

“I thought consciously about it for a minute and decided to call the authorities. I thought, ‘I have to do something to save her.’ When someone tells you they don’t want to live anymore, that in itself would provoke anyone who cares. I know that Amanda is a person crying out for help.”

In an odd turn, Jenny McCarthy got in on the action, tweeting about the incident to her nearly 900k fans on Twitter. “Police are at @AmandaBynes house,” Jenny tweeted after Jonathan spoke of Amanda’s issues. “I hope they get her help. Enough of this circus. She needs help.”

Once Amanda saw Jenny’s tweet, she went off on a serious rant. “I need help? What are u talking about? Aren’t u 50 years old?” she asked. “I’m 27, u look 80 compared to me! Why are you talking about me? You’re ugly! Police weren’t at my house old lady! Shut the f**k up!”

Here’s a photo of Jenny.. not looking 50 or 80:

A while later, Jenny confirmed that she didn’t actually see the ordeal with her own eyes. “It came from a publicist,” she explained, “but if no one can back it up it could be wrong. So start digging.” Then, she apologized to Amanda for seemingly confirming the story. “Sorry girl. Looking out for ya.”

Amanda responded saying, “Thanks! I’m sorry I offended you! You’re beautiful! I was lying! I’ll delete our tweets!” And she did.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Jaxson is fighting back against claims that he did this for publicity. “I did what I did to save her life. At the end of the day, what else was I going to do? God forbid something happened to Amanda because I would have to live with that the rest of my life, if I did not make the call.”

The New York Police Department has yet to confirm whether or not they were ever at Amanda’s home.

PR publicist Jonathan Jaxson and Kim ZolciakIt should be noted that Jonathan does have a bit of a history of headline making, including a falling out with Kim Zolciak (right) after she hired him to do some PR work for her in late 2008. In March of 2009 Kim Zolciak stopped paying him and he in turn updated her website to read “Site down to due non-payment. This site will be ‘non active’ due to failure of payment and a pending lawsuit against Ms. Zolciak.” There were lawsuits filed, which were later resolved and the two made nice for the media. Then, back in 2012, Jonathan faced a defamation suit brought against him by Kim Kardashian for claiming her wedding to Kris Humphries was a sham. He claims to have been Kim’s former publicist, but sources close to Kim told E! that she “only knew him in passing, briefly hiring him to handle an issue with the gossip site MediaTakeOut.” Kim’s defamation was settled in February of 2012 with Jaxson being forced to issue this apology:

“I wanted to apologize publicly to Kim Kardashian for any confusion that I may have caused by the personal statements I made recently regarding Kim Kardashian,” he wrote. “I would like to further clarify that I did not have any first hand knowledge of Kim’s relationship with Kris.”
