It’s tough for love to last in this world, but Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos seem to have found the secret ingredient for a lasting relationship.
Yesterday, May 1, 2013, was the couple’s 17-year wedding anniversary and to celebrate Kelly tweeted their wedding photo “Omg. Here it is. 5/1/96. I love you @MarkConsuelos happy anniversary! 17 years feels like 17 days.” Mark tweeted back “Happy 17 th anniversary to my boo @Kelly Ripa.”
She joked about their anniversary on her talk show, noting that May 1 is also National Lei Day “I have to bring this home and lei Mark because today is our wedding anniversary,” Ripa quipped. “It’s only fair that he should also get lei’d.”
The couple, who have three children, Michael, 15, Lola, 11, and Joaquin, 9, met on the set of soap opera All My Children, and eloped in Las Vegas, proving you don’t need a lavish wedding ceremony and a Vera Wang gown to make a marriage work.

He is my best friend. Nobody knows me the way he knows me. We’ve seen each other in an Avatar, ‘I see you’ way.”
She says they also squeeze in some time together between kids and work to snuggle and watch guilty pleasure TV. Well, maybe a little more than snuggling:
“Sometimes we’ll put the kids to bed early and watch Jersey Shore on DVR. It can be that simple, just the two of us, alone, one day a week, for dinner and hijinks … a little bump and tickle. Woo-hoo! I’m 40. I can say that now. I think we’re better parents because date night gives us something to look forward to, a night where we’re not saying, ‘Put that down, stop touching her, don’t spill that.'”
