PHOTOS Amy Duggar is engaged — see how fiancé Dillon King proposed!
The expanded Duggar family is getting bigger yet again! Cousin Amy Duggar got engaged to Dillon King on Monday night.
The star of TLC’s A Duggar Leaves Home excitedly announced the news on Twitter, saying, “I’m engaged!!!!! Soon to be Mrs. King!!!” She also shared a picture of the proposal moment. (You know it isn’t a typical Duggar proposal when there’s a bottle of champagne in the background!)
She later shared a look at her beautiful ring on Instagram, where she added, “I’m so happy to announce … WE ARE ENGAGED!!!! He loves the Lord, he makes me laugh uncontrollably, he’s loyal, he’s patient, he’s my best friend! Of course I said yes!! l love you so much!”
Groom-to-be Dillon also announced the news on his Instagram, saying, “Well everyone…. WE ARE ENGAGED!!!! @amyduggar I asked you to be my fiancee not just because I love you right now. I got down on one knee because you are the only woman I have and will truly love forever.!!! Xoxo”
Along with the caption, he posted a photo collage from their engagement — and one picture of them a millisecond away from a kiss. As I said, this wasn’t the typical Duggar proposal!
Amy gave a better look at the proposal scene on Twitter. It seems Dillon put in a lot of thought–he lined a path with candles, decorated with pictures from their romance, and put the aforementioned champagne on ice. Amy called the presentation “simple and sincere,” adding that she loved it.
Afterward, Amy and Dillon headed over to her aunt and uncle’s home for a celebration.
Even though Amy differs from the other Duggars with her dating vs. courtship policies, everyone seemed very happy for the couple:
“We are so excited for our niece Amy Duggar and Dillion King on getting engaged. We tell every couple that as a husband and wife individually draw close to God, they will draw close to each other. We love you Amy & Dillion and pray that God will continue to bless your relationship as you put Him first in your lives,” said Uncle Jim Bob and Aunt Michelle on Facebook.
Congrats to Amy and Dillon!
