Canadian-born couple Jay Baruchel and Alison Pill have called of their engagement.
Baruchel, who’s appeared in Knocked Up and Tropic Thunder, made headlines with his rather profane proposal. He told ET Canada.
“I was going to give her a ring, and I wasn’t sure. I wasn’t ready in my heart to say what it was. When I gave it to her, I just said, basically, ‘S*** or get off the pot. I said, ‘F*** it, will you marry me?’ “
The couple was supposed to have wed in September but in an interview with Times Colonist last month Jay explained why there was a delay.
“Unfortunately, we’re two busy people who are intrinsically lazy. So in our free time the last thing we want to do is book flights and organize hotel rooms for people. But it’ll happen at some point.”
ET Canada caught up with Pill at PaleyFest in Beverly Hills and asked her about the couple’s wedding plans. The Newsroom star’s answer was short and not so sweet. She said, “There will be none.”
A fan asked Jay why Alison had deleted her Twitter account (she was notorious for having once accidentally posted a topless pic) and he verified Pill’s statement by replying, “We are no longer together.”
Baruchel is set to appear in the film This Is the End (which looks like it could be great) while Pill will star in Snowpiercer alongside Ed Harris and Tilda Swinton.
