Multiple rumors suggest Stacey Dash is joining The Real Housewives of Atlanta
Is Stacey Dash joining The Real Housewives of Atlanta? The Fox News personality could be making the jump from politics to southern drama if a series of rumors pans out. RHOA is wrapping up its eighth season, and producers have reportedly decided to fire one cast member and replace her with Dash.
The string of chatter began with a Blind Gossip piece that doesn’t specifically mention Stacey Dash joining The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The piece mentions an “over-40 actress” (Dash is 49) who “is not a huge movie star” but has “starr[ed] on more than one TV series” and is looking to become one of the Real Housewives in order to keep up her acting chops.
Those qualifications describe a pretty broad swath of women; indeed, Stacey Dash’s name doesn’t come up in the comments for the article, either. But Ask Kissy followed up on the rumor by stating flatly that Dash is “at the top of [the producers’] list.”
From there, Media Take Out went ahead and cited “very reliable sources” who claim that Kim Fields has been fired after just one season as a RHOA main cast member. Now that she’s gone, Dash has apparently “agreed in principle” to a $2 million contract for the next season of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta. (Though MTO has its detractors, it’s worth pointing out that they did get right the initial details of the recent nightclub brawl involving Stevie J and Mimi Faust from Love & Hop Hop Atlanta, even if the pair’s involvement in a nearby shooting remains questionable.)
Of course, Stacey Dash has yet to comment publicly on any of this. And RHOA hasn’t even technically been renewed for Season 9–the current season has two weeks’ worth of reunion specials left to air–so any firing or hiring reports seem a bit premature. However, the installment remains the most popular of all the Real Housewives franchises; if any of them were to get an automatic renewal, Atlanta would have to be the one.
