Mel Gibson’s dad files for divorce, claims elder abuse by wife
According to Hutton Gibson’s official website he’s, “an author, World War II Veteran, Jeopardy Champion and father of Academy Award winning director Mel Gibson. After spending three years in the seminary, Hutton has dedicated his life to Defending the Faith of Our Fathers.”
While Hutton has been defending our fathers it looks like his famous son Mel is coming to his defense as the 93-year-old is filing for divorce from his wife Teddy Joye.
According to TMZ, Hutton is taking an assortment of medications for a number of separate ailments with the assistance of Mel and the family but Joye believes that these actions are prolonging his suffering and are actually against his wishes. She wants the medications halted to accelerate Hutton’s passing believing fully this is what he wants.
Mel has taken the lead in defending his dad and is convinced that Joye is guilty of elder abuse because of her current conduct. Hutton himself filed for divorce and signed the docs.
It looks like Joye intends on fighting this out, in court if needed. There’s a great deal of animosity between Mel’s family and Joye apparently.
Here’s a video of Hutton from back in 2008 as he came out in support of Ron Paul for president:
