Lamar Odom divorce: Recovering star reportedly plans to take back control of his life
According to several new reports, the Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom divorce is back on–but, this time, it’s Lamar who plans on filing the paperwork and making things official. In a surprise turn of events, the possibility of a Lamar Odom divorce has come about thanks to Lamar’s improving health and apparent desire to take back control of his life from Khloe, who’s allegedly been n erratic caregiver these last few months.
It’s been a bumpy road for the pair since Odom’s October overdose and seizure, but to say that a Lamar Odom divorce was expected would be something of an understatement. After all, Khloe appeared to be moving toward an attempt at a reconciliation–she sounded wistful when talking about her old, “fat” body “that Lamar loved” shortly before dumping James Harden when his request for breast implants was too much to bear. At the same time, though, Odom was reportedly “pissed” when Khloe moved him out of her house and into a rented mansion next door without telling him beforehand; it’s alleged that Odom didn’t appreciate the interruption of his convalescence, and supposed that that move might have set the Lamar Odom divorce in motion.
A new Inquisitr report supports that notion, and claims that the Lamar Odom divorce from Khloe Kardashian might already be in motion. According to that report, Lamar plans to drop a “massive bomb” on Khloe, in the form a divorce request, because he is “ready to start his life anew.” An insider offered further clarification: “Lamar was completely unable to take care of himself after Vegas, and he welcomed Khloe’s amazing help. But he’s a lot better now, so he wants to be independent.
“Lamar feels like he can make his own medical decisions now.” the source went on. “He has a strong team around him and he knows he is going to continue to get better….He has decided that he wants to be in control of his life, and that means divorcing Khloe finally.”
And Khloe, for her part, might be prepared to accept the Lamar Odom divorce. A recent dispatch from Hollywood Life suggests that the 32-year-old reality TV star is prepared to forgive Lamar for both his past drug use and cheating ways. “She’s come to peace with Lamar’s past mistakes,” that report’s source stated. “She’s forgiven him. However, she will never forget. She would never hold his past over his head. That’s not healthy for either of them. She wants him to learn from his past, to grow from those experiences, and to make better decisions for his life.”
