Kendall Jenner says quotes about Bruce Jenner in Us Weekly interview never happened
As we reported earlier, Us Weekly published an article today in which they claim to have spoken to Kendall Jenner backstage at the Justin Bieber Comedy Central roast about Bruce Jenner’s reported transition. “I will always love my dad, whether he’s a man or a woman,” Kendall allegedly told the site.
The article has outraged Kendall because she claims she never said the things Us Weekly attributed to her, and that the whole interview never even took place! “How is it legal for someone to ‘quote’ someone and publish it if in fact you never said what was quoted?” Kendall asked on Twitter.
She later added, “Shame on US Weekly for making up quotes. I NEVER said those things. I never spoke to them.”
The whole thing is REALLY bizarre because Us Weekly quotes Kendall extensively, not just about her dad, but about her modeling career, her sisters, and her dating life. Did they really make all of that up?
At the time of this post the Us Weekly article is still up and there has been no official statement from them about the validity of their “interview.” My theory is that Jimmy Kimmel planted celebrity lookalikes backstage to do fake interviews. (When I wrote that I meant it as completely silly, but realizing this was a Comedy Central roast, I’m starting to think it’s not that crazy. Although I would have expected quotes that were way more crazy.)
Stay tuned!
