Jubilee Duggar miscarriage baby photos included in memorial service
The Duggar family from the TLC reality series 19 Kids and Counting held a memorial service today for their 20th child, Jubilee Shalom Duggar, who passed away after Michelle Duggar suffered a miscarriage earlier this week. During the service the family passed out photos that included Jubilee’s hand and foot with inspirational quotes like “There is no foot too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world.”
The photos were also used as part of a Power Point presentation on a big screen at the family’s church in Arkansas where the service was held.
The photos made their way to the internet when family member Amy Duggar posted them on Twitter with the message, “RIP precious Jubilee Shalom Duggar! Can’t wait to meet you someday, thank you Lord for giving our family peace.” They were then picked up by a Duggars fan site and TMZ not long after that. TMZ has the pictures – you can CLICK HERE to see them.
Michelle Duggar was in her second trimester at the time of the miscarriage.
So what do you think? Did the Duggars cross the line, or was this a touching way to memorialize baby Jubilee?
Ed note: We have taken down all images of baby Jubilee because of the emotional response we received from our passionate readers. If you desire, you can see the photos at TMZ. We did not censor them because we felt they were shameful or wrong, or to say that the Duggar family was not allowed to grieve the way they chose to. We did it because this is a public forum, it’s an extremely sensitive topic; some readers may not be ready or want to see the unedited photos. No matter how you feel about the photos of Jubilee, it’s always an unspeakably terrible thing to lose a child, and it we’re very glad that the Duggar family is finding a way to grieve a devastating loss.
Miscarriage is more common than people realize, and often people don’t openly talk about it when it happens to them, which just continues downward spiral of isolation and pain. The Duggars’ very open grieving is helping others who are going through similar situations. No matter how you feel about how the Duggars handled their 2nd miscarriage, please be respectful to a family who lost their child.
