The Duggar family has just gotten even bigger. Josh Duggar, the oldest son of Jim Bob and Michelle, and his wife Anna welcomed their third child, a son, over the weekend. In typical Duggar form, the birth was documented for the upcoming series, 19 Kids & Counting: GrandDuggar Makes 3!
Josh and Anna’s baby boy arrived on Sunday, June 2, just before noon, People Magazine reports. The new bundle of joy, named Marcus Anthony, weighed in at 9 lbs., 3 oz. Marcus joins big sister Mackynzie, 3, and big brother Michael, 2, who, as their mommy and daddy say, are “thrilled to welcome a little brother.”
“We are so thankful that mom and baby are well! We are blessed to have our family close as we celebrate this gift from God,” the couple tells the mag.
After announcing their baby news earlier this year, Josh and Anna told People that they are open to having as many children as “God gives us.”
“I am so thankful for our children,” Anna said at the time. “It is not about having a bunch of babies. It is about enjoying each child God has given you and focus on every day that you get with your child.”
Despite having plenty of practice with children, Josh claims that with each birth comes new challenges. “The most seasoned parents will confess their inadequacy. Each child is so unique and so different. It is just amazing,” he explained.
19 Kids & Counting: GrandDuggar Makes 3! premieres on Sunday, June 16, at 8/7c.
