Farrah Abraham helps children in Cambodia by giving her dogs a spa day?
Teen Mom OG star Farrah Abraham and daughter Sophia did their part to help out the children of Cambodia this week by giving all of the Abraham dogs a spa day.
Wait, what?
Farrah shared a photo of her lavish yet altruistic deed (above) on social media today and wrote: “All my pooches had a spa day for a great cause @caringforcambodia sending over 10,000 tooth brushes for youth! @lakewayvet ??❤️?”
If you’re like me, you are probably wondering how giving your dogs a spa day could possibly help children in Cambodia get toothbrushes. So, I did a little research and figured out the connection.
In honor of both National Pet Dental Health Month and National Children’s Dental Health Month (February is apparently a big month for dental awareness!) the Lakeway Veterinary Clinic has joined forces with Caring for Cambodia to collect toothbrushes through the month. You will notice in the photo that there is a collection box in the foreground. Here is the poster on the box:
So I assume Farrah and Sophia brought along some toothbrushes to donate as part of their pooch spapalooza outing. (I’m not sure why Sophia’s miniature horse Starburst wasn’t invited to the sparty. I guess she’s a little harder to just toss in the car?)
You might think it silly to think showering your pets with lavish, um, showers could be considered charitable in any way, but here I am writing about Caring for Cambodia and here you are reading about them. 🙂
Speaking of which, here is the organization’s mission statement from their website:
Caring for Cambodia (CFC) believes that when knowledge cannot be handed down, it must be handed out. We work to educate one child at a time today, to make a difference for Cambodia’s tomorrow. We create and sustain safe, modern, technologically equipped schools; mentor and professionally train teachers; and fund supplies and other tools needed to teach those who want to learn. CFC provides educational opportunities for Cambodian children so they may reach their highest potential and make valuable contributions to their communities.

Thank you Farrah for doing your part to make the world a better place. 😉
