Drake isn’t happy Rolling Stone paid tribute to Philip Seymour Hoffman instead of him
Drake is NOT HAPPY Rolling Stone gave “his cover” to the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. He also claims the magazine misquoted his comments about Kanye West.
I never commented on Yeezus for my interview portion of Rolling Stone. They also took my cover from me last minute and ran the issue.

He quickly followed up with another message to clarify…
I'm disgusted with that. RIP to Phillip Seymour Hoffman. All respect due. But the press is evil.

Then he declared he’s done with interviews.
I'm done doing interviews for magazines. I just want to give my music to the people. That's the only way my message gets across accurately.

In terms of the misquoted comments about Kanye, he may be referring to the portion of the article in which he seemed to say the Yeezus album was lyrically inconsistent.
He was quoted as saying, “There were some real questionable bars on there. Like that ‘Swaghili’ line? Come on, man. Even Fabolous wouldn’t say some s**t like that.”
If he really didn’t say those words, his criticism is understandable. But, fewer people seem willing to overlook his perceived diss of Philip Seymour Hoffman, an Academy Award-winning actor who died of an overdose this month.
One person reacted to Drake’s comments on Twitter, saying, “If you want someone to hate more than the snow, Drake is pissed that he lost a RS cover to Phillip Seymour Hoffman.”
Another commented, “It’s a fascinating display when out of touch stars/Drake throw public tantrums cause they can’t have all the hi-fives they need to get by.”
In Drake’s defense, lots of time and energy goes into cover stories/photo shoots for major magazines. He may feel like that’s wasted…
That being said, Drake likely has many more years in the business and there’s little doubt Rolling Stone would give him another cover. On the other hand, a tribute cover to Philip Seymour Hoffman wouldn’t really make sense in, say, July.
Do you think Drake is out of line?
