David Eason criminal charges dismissed from alleged assault of Jace Evans in 2023

Teen Mom 2 dad David Eason was in court in North Carolina today where his trial was scheduled to start in regards to criminal charges of strangulation and child abuse after allegedly assaulting Jenelle Evans’ son Jace Evans in 2023.

The Ashley reports that both charges were dismissed after prosecutors asked the judge for yet another continuance.

“The prosecutor explained that Jenelle, Barbara and Jace were not cooperating in the case anymore,” The Ashley reports. “She stated that they had previously been cooperating but that changed within the last week or so.”

The judge didn’t see the point in another delay, stating it would just be “kicking a can down the road.” Both criminal charges were dismissed.

The Ashley’s source was in the courtroom and says ““The whole court hearing was over in 10 minutes.”

The restraining order preventing David from being near Jace is expected to be dropped, but that has yet to be confirmed.

Jenelle not cooperating would have made sense before last week, but she and David have reportedly split yet again recently. Jenelle doesn’t seem to be willing to go out of her way to do anything to support Jace, but she has been known to exert Herculean effort when it comes to being vindictive.

It’s unclear why Barbara and Jace would have stopped cooperating.
