Exactly one week after her divorce was finalized from ex-husband Marty Caffrey, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Staub is engaged for the 21st time! The 56-year-old reality star will all but sprint down the aisle as she plans to marry fiance Olivier Maier on Monday — at which point she will officially become Duchess Danielle.
According to People, the proposal went down earlier today as the couple enjoyed a vacation together at the Cheval Blanc maison in St. Barth. Danielle has been posting photos from her vacay all week, including one shot in which she and Olivier kissed under a rainbow:
“Mystery solved,” Danielle captioned the photo, obviously implying that she had found her pot of gold.
“I’m madly in love. I’m feeling elated and excited for the next stage of my life,” Staub tells People. She then seems to temper her optimism a bit when she awkwardly inserts the word “possible” into her next sentence: “I’m going to marry the man of my possible dreams and hopefully I’ll spend the rest of my life in bliss.”
In addition to running an equity firm in New York City, Olivier is also the Duke of Provence. That means Dainelle will officially become a Duchess as soon as the two wed.
As far as her new title, Danielle claims that was a recent discovery. Of course, she and Olivier only met in October, so pretty much everything she knows about him she learned recently. 😉
Olivier’s family reportedly owns two castles and 15 vineyards in the South of France. So, not only will Duchess Danielle be usurping The Countess as Bravo’s resident royal, she may also be coming for Ramona Singer’s wine empire as well!
Danielle’s wedding plans seem much less extravagant than her tropical wedding in the Bahamas last May. “They’re planning on flying back to the states to pick up her ring at Van Cleef, and saying their ‘I dos’ on Monday at a ceremony at the Justice of the Peace in New York City,” People reports, adding that the couple will be “surrounded by friends including Staub’s pal and RHONJ costar Teresa Giudice.”
Olivier has been married once before, and he has a 12 1/2-year-old daughter. Danielle has two daughters, Christine, 25, and Jillian, 20, from her 14-year marriage to Thomas N. Staub. Danielle tells People that the two will not be in a rush to blend their families.
The Duke and Duchess plan to live in New York City with hopes of getting a house for Danielle’s daughters in New Jersey. “Most likely we’ll be spending a lot of time in France,” Danielle adds. “We’ll be going to castles and all that, and living in Paris for a certain amount of months out of the year.” It’s unclear what her plans are as far as continuing to film as a Real Housewife.
