Brooke Mueller sues rehab and wins

Charlie Sheen's ex-wife Brooke Mueller

Brooke Mueller has just won a big payday in her lawsuit against The Canyons rehab facility in Malibu. Brooke, the ex-wife of Charlie Sheen, had been treated at the facility a few years ago but took legal action against them after she claims they leaked her private admissions documents to the press.

Brooke had entered The Canyons in February of 2010 in the midst of her domestic abuse case with Charlie. But days after she arrived, her patient admission documents from her stay were sent out to multiple tabloid sources and headlines quickly revealed that she was seeking treatment for substance abuse. At the time, the facility acknowledged the breach and conducted an internal investigation.

Needless to say, Brooke left the facility shortly after she got word of the confidentiality breach and nearly two years later in October of 2011, she filed documents against The Canyons claiming they violated her right to privacy.

Now, according to a new report by TMZ, Brooke and The Canyons have reached a settlement in their dispute and Brooke has been awarded around $250,000.

Brooke has been dealing with addiction for several years and has gone to rehab a whopping nineteen times. Her criminal past includes an arrest for DUI and cocaine possession.

During her most recent rehab stay, Brooke admitted (via her attorney) to being addicted to Adderall, a psycho-stimulant often used to treat ADD. “Brooke was uncomfortable with the way Adderall was making her behave,” Yale Galanter told TMZ. “Brooke continues her lifelong battle with drug addiction by taking these steps herself to prevent a further drug relapse.”
