We’ve already established that Beyonce basically stole the show at the Met Gala last weekend with her revealing, crystal-covered gown… But, despite the eye-catching dress, the most noteworthy part of the look was Bey’s banging body. Now we have a bit more insight into how she’s achieved her figure.
In the foreword for vegan dietician Marco Borges’ new book, 22-Day Revolution, Beyonce said her 2013 vegan challenge really jumpstarted a whole new diet.
“After having my daughter, I made a conscious effort to regain control of my health and my body,” Beyonce said in the book, according to The Daily Mail. “But I didn’t want to do a crash diet. I was a mom now. I needed to change my ways and set an example for my child.”

By following Marco’s guidelines for a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole-grains and plant-based proteins, Beyonce said she immediately experienced “increased energy, better sleep, weight-loss, improved digestion, clarity and an incredibly positive feeling for my actions and the effects it would have on those around me and the environment.” She added, “I couldn’t believe how much of our health we can control with food.”
As an added benefit, she was reportedly able to shed some lingering pregnancy weight — plus more for a total weight loss of 65 lbs. I’m not sure I buy that exact number, but there’s no denying she looks great these days!
