At last night’s Country Music Association Awards, Miranda Lambert won her fourth straight female vocalist of the year award. The honor served as an incredible early birthday present for Miranda, who turns 30 on Sunday. Earlier in the night, Miranda opened up about another notable pre-birthday accomplishment…
“You know what, I fluctuate all the time in my weight — it’s really annoying — but I’m going to be 30 in like four days, so I’m like, ‘I need to get ahead of this thing!’ Because they say when you hit 30 it doesn’t get easier,” Miranda told E! News. “So I thought, ‘Well, you know, if I get a little healthier before I turn 30, maybe I can get ahead of the game.'”
In spite of her self-admitted yo-yoing, Miranda always looks gorgeous and never seems to lack for confidence. She told People she simply realized the importance of eating better.
“I just felt that I should get a little more healthy and I have a record coming out in the spring and it’s a very important album to me – it’s my fifth album – and I have this spot, I found a great spot in country music and I want to keep it,” the Pistol Annies star said.
Although Miranda previously told Self she hates exercising, she told People on Wednesday night that she learned to compromise by scaling back on her Cheetos addiction. Still, there’s another indulgence she refuses to give up completely…
“All through my 20s I worked a lot – I was on the road since I was 17 and the road life is a lot of fast food and a lot of late nights and a lot of drinking – I didn’t give up drinking. I refused. You have to drink to put up with my husband! Just kidding,” she joked of Blake Shelton, who won album of the year and his fourth consecutive male vocalist title.
