Here at Starcasm we are all about keeping up with Kim Kardashian and all our favorite Teen Moms but not in a million years did I see the two forces coming together in a virtual war of words! Somehow, someway the two unstoppable pop phenomenons have found themselves at the doorsteps of a battle over the issue of teen pregnancy and it ain’t pretty folks.
This all started with Kim Kardashian flashing her backside blog skills by making a post about teen pregnancy and singling out the hit MTV show as one of the problems. Yes, Kim blogs, and yes she feels like her opinion in regards to the social issue is important. Here’s what she blogged:
While I was at the Today Show this morning I saw a story about a Memphis high school where 90 young female students were either pregnant or have given birth this year! I just couldn’t believe this and I find it so sad and disturbing. It seems that shows like Teen Mom are all of a sudden making teen pregnancy seem cool in the eyes of young girls. The kids from these shows are all over the news, even on the covers of magazines, and have been become almost like celebrities, but girls, these are not people you should idolize!
When I think back to when I was 16, there is no way I would even have considered having a baby. That thought wouldn’t even have entered my head. Having a baby is one one of the biggest, and most life-changing decisions a person can make and while I’m not saying that no teen is in the position to raise a child, having a baby so young shouldn’t be seen as the trendy thing to do.
Girls, please, think very carefully before you make these kind of decisions. Talk to your family, friends, teachers, and most of all, be careful.

Of course nothing about Kim K goes unnoticed for long and when these comments came across the radar of Teen Mom Amber Portwood there was an immediate and succinct return of fire. Here’s what Amber thought of Kim’s opinion via E online:
“There’s actually a study that shows since the original 16 and Pregnant aired, the number of teen pregnancies have gone down. Last time I checked, Kim Kardashian had a sex tape floating around on the internet and I’m pretty sure she made a lot of money off of it. She made a sex tape when she was younger and she wants to bash the girls on Teen Mom? If you read the articles about the show, they do nothing but talk about how the show reveals how hard it is for all of us. It doesn’t glamorize anything! It shows the heartache we’ve all gone through.”
“We may be ‘celebrities’ because our face is out there, but it’s only because we’ve done some bad things. That’s not glamorous.”
Well holy smokes! Teen Mom Amber Portwood just b-slapped Kim Kardashian with her thoughtful reply. This is freaking great but leave it to our foul mouthed lady from Teen Mom 2 Jenelle Evans to sum the whole situation up in just a few words:
“I want to say, sh!t happens.”
