Teen Mom 2 dad Jeremy Calvert officially revealed that he is dating 22-year-old Desi Kibler from Canton, Ohio last week, and it appears as though he may have his hands full! According to online records, Desi was arrested for DUI and drug possession and booked on April 12.
Apparently, Desi decided it was a good idea to drive herself home from jail, as she was stopped by the same officer and arrested for DUI again — in addition to driving on a suspended license — less than two hours later.
Desi (full name Desiree Kibler) was stopped while driving southbound on Route 44 at 1:28 AM on April 12. Desi was given a breathalyzer test and registered a .163 BAC. In addition, she in possession of a pill believed to be the prescription drug Vyvanse — for which she did not have a prescription.
As a result, Desi was arrested and charged with misdemeanor OVI (Ohio refers to DUI as OVI, which stands for Operating a Vehicle under the Influence), felony drug possession, and misdemeanor “display of license plates” for expired tags.
Less than two hours later, Desi was booked and released from Portage County Jail and was headed back home when she was pulled over by the same police officer while traveling the same direction on the same road as before. The officer arrested her for OVI a second time, as well as for driving on Desi’s now-suspended license, and she went right back to jail. (Records do not indicate that another BAC test was administered.)
This time around, Desi’s release wasn’t as easy, as it required that she first post a $5,000 bond. She must have used her one phone call to reach out to her new bae, because Jeremy Calvert shelled out the money to cover the bond and free his beloved.
According to court records, Desi pleaded no contest and was found guilty of one of the OVI charges; the prosecutor dropped the other. The prosecutor also dropped the charges for expired tags and driving on a suspended license.
The felony drug possession charge was amended to a misdemeanor charge, but I could not find a disposition on the amended charge.
As far as sentencing, Desi was fined $850, ordered to spend 180 days in jail (173 days suspended), placed on one year of probation, had her license suspended for 18 months, and more. You can see it all in the sentencing document below; just click to enlarge:
Neither Jeremy nor Desi have addressed her arrest on social media, but Desi did seem to reference the fact that Jeremy literally bailed her out of a jam with these tweets the next day:
UPDATE – Just as I was about to publish this post, Desi shared a tweet that is probably in reference to the DUI arrest story breaking. “People who speak on others lives without knowing the truth, well I feel sorry for y’all,” she wrote. “Must have a boring life or issues that you haven’t gotten fixed, I’ll pray for y’all ??”
