Discovery’s popular pixelated survivalist reality series Naked and Afraid is getting a Celebrity Edition and it will feature a Teen Mom OG star that isn’t Farrah Abraham!
The Ashley’s Reality Roundup broke the news earlier today that Naked and Afraid would be following in the footsteps of shows like The Apprentice and Big Brother with their very own “Celebrity Edition.” The Ashley reports that Maci “has already shot the episode” — as in singular — so I assume that she did not spend an extended amount of time naked and afraid in a jungle somewhere. Perhaps just 24 hours?
Even so, Maci took her appearance very seriously. “Maci spent a great deal of time training for the show before she left,” a source tells The Ashley. The source also reveals that the “Celebrity Edition” will be a little less extreme for the cast members. “She got to bring a few extra ‘personal’ items than the typical contestant on the show, but other than that, she didn’t get a lot of special treatment,” the source adds. It’s unclear if those “personal items” could include clothing of any kind. (Gotta represent that TTM brand yo!)
There has been no official announcement from Discovery or official confirmation from Maci. Also quiet so far is Maci’s Teen Mom OG co-star Farrah Abraham, who was reportedly fired from the show in part because of her participation in live nude cam shows online. (In other words, Naked and Not Afraid.)
The Ashley didn’t reveal how much money Maci will receive for her appearance on the show, but I assume it will be substantially more than what the regular cast members receive.
Maci McKinney is a very high profile reality star, so I admit my curiosity is piqued as far as who the rest of the cast for the Naked and Afraid Celebrity Edition will be! I’m trying to think of other reality stars who “went missing” for a bit, and the only ones that jump out to me are 90 Day Fiance stars Jorge and Anfisa. Hmmmm… I wonder if they would allow couples to participate? Either way, Anfisa clearly doesn’t have an issue with the “naked” aspect.

I would vote for pretty much everyone on all the Teen Mom shows (Farrah, Babs, Dr. Randy, Gary, Amber, Starburst, Debz OG, Ryan, Adam…) but that seems a little too easy. I’m gonna cast my votes for Scott Disick, Tila Tequila (she is currently pregnant though), Jim Bob Duggar, and that “Cash Me Ousside” girl.
