The latest update regarding Giada de Laurentiis and her new boyfriend isn’t the happiest news in the world. Apparently, Giada’s beau Shane Farley is actually still married, and is currently going through a divorce. This news isn’t sitting well with Giada’s many detractors, for reasons that go back to the many rumors about Giada’s alleged involvement with fellow celebrity chef Bobby Flay.
Starcasm was the first to posit that that the “Giada de Laurentiis new boyfriend” rumors were all directed at one man: television producer Shane Farley, with whom Giada has worked on a number of shows over the years. Farley was also tapped to produce the ill-fated Giada-Bobby Flay talk show back in 2012. The show never made it past the pilot stage, but the relationship appeared to catch.

In light of their relationship going public, though, comes several reports that Farley is actually still a married man. A Page Six dispatch on the topic points out that the first wave of Giada-Farley news “left off he’s technically still married. When he first met Giada, he was still very much married.”
According to Extra‘s take, Farley has been married to Jennifer Giamo, a personal trainer, for fifteen years. Farley filed for divorce from Giamo this past March, and the proceedings are ongoing; Giada’s rep told Page Six that Giada and Farley didn’t actually begin dating until this past August. That claim does link up with reports, from August, that Giada was seen out with a “mystery man” at noted sushi restaurant Nobu. She and the man–who was definitely not oft-rumored boyfriend Bobby Flay–were “totally making out” and closed the restaurant down, according to eyewitnesses.
Regardless of the timeline, Giamo is reportedly “devastated” by the news. Her lawyer, Barry S. Guaglardi, told Page Six “My client is devastated by what she has learned through the tabloids….‘Hurtful’ would be a mild characterization.”
A separate source alleged that Farley and Giamo are “just in the middle” of their divorce.
