It seems the gals of Teen Mom 2 are breaking out of their older sisters’ shadows! Last night’s Season 2 premiere registered 4.154 million total viewers, which is the highest number for any premiere in the history of either of the Teen Mom franchises!
And the good news doesn’t stop there! The most important number to networks is the Adults 18-49 rating, and going by that number the Teen Mom 2 Season 2 premiere was tied with a special episode of American Chopper as the most watched show on cable, even beating out the season finale of Sons of Anarchy! The final Adults 18-49 rating was 2.4, which means approximately 2.4% of all television viewers aged 18-49 had their eyeballs on MTV from 10-11. (According to TV By The Numbers that equates to about 3.07 million peeps.)
The Season 2 premiere beat out the inaugural premiere episode by more than 21% and helped propel MTV to its biggest Tuesday night ratings ever!

Still not impressed? How about the fact that over 10% of all female television viewers between the ages of 18 and 24 were watching!
Once again, congrats to MTV and to the gals of Teen Mom 2 for not only a successful night in the ratings, but what I thought was a great kick off for what promises to be an amazing roller coaster of a season!
