Mike and Natalie of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? are currently not together after a stressful season. One of the biggest points of contention between them was an ill-fated Thanksgiving dinner with Mike’s mom. While Natalie was in the kitchen preparing Borscht, a traditional Ukrainian dish, Natalie says Mike’s mother Trish called her a “hooker.” This slight was not caught on camera, and Mike insists it didn’t happen. Is Mike gaslighting Natalie, or is it the other way around?
It’s hard not to believe Natalie as she keeps repeating this comment, which she sees as huge disrespect. Mike tells her that he thinks that it’s simply a miscommunication, which he claims happens all the time with Natalie and other people. This seems like he’s invalidating her feelings, especially since he doesn’t know for sure whether or not it happened. The only two people who know are Natalie and Trish.
Something that brings Natalie’s narrative into question is the fact that she would not ask Trish about the hooker comment to her face before they left. All three of them had a moment together where Mike asked Natalie to bring up what his mother said that made her so upset. She refused to say anything at this time. Of course, this proves nothing, but we don’t have the confirmation or denial from Trish about the situation.
