Will Jane the Virgin be renewed? Cast reactions to CW’s decision
Will Jane the Virgin be renewed? The CW comedy is a critical smash hit: it’s one of only a handful of shows to have a coveted 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes for both of its seasons; among its many awards are the 2015 Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical, which Gina Rodriguez picked up, and the 2015 People’s Choice Award for Best New Comedy. Thanks to its over-the-top antics, rapid-fire jokes, intricate plot layering, and frequent meta-references, Jane the Virgin is basically a modern day Arrested Decelopment, in telenovela form.
And, much like Arrested Development, the show has cultivated a fiercely loyal following, though it’s also seen a decline in ratings from seasons one to two. Fortunately, fans hoping to get a Jane the Virgin Season 3 can look forward to just that–CW recently renewed all eleven of its scripted series for the 2016-17 season.
As you might expect, the JtV cast was understandably stoked about the news, and took to social media with a variety of GIFs and homemade video clips in order to celebrate!
