VIDEO News anchor walks off set during segment on the Kardashians
Call it Kardashian fatigue: a Florida journalist has become a viral sensation and drawn praise from many viewers who’ve given voice to this common syndrome. How’d he do it? Check out the raw footage as the news anchor walks off set in the middle of a segment on the family–specifically, on the name Kylie Jenner selected for her new bunny rabbit.
“I’m having a good Friday,” John Brown begins, “so I refuse to talk about the Kardashians today.” And then he gets up and walks off camera, trailing behind him only a handful of words for his co-anchor: “You are on your own, Amy.”
Then, when Amy just sits there looking stunned, Brown–still off-camera–continues with his rationale: “I can’t do it–I’ve had enough Kardashians! I can’t take any more Kardashian stories on this show.”
“You left me!” protests Amy, though at this point it seems pretty clear that she’s just playing up the situation for the cameras.
Jenny, the correspondent in charge of the rabbit story–who is either having a good time laughing during the segment or masks her contempt for Brown with laughter so professionally phony she may as well be animatronic–tries to bring Brown back in by relating Kylie to his own daughter, but he’s having none of that: “I don’t care!” he shouts. “This family–I’m sick of this family! I can’t take it anymore!”
Finally, over the laughter of everyone in the news room, John Brown gives voice to a popular thought: “It’s a non-story! It’s a non-story!”
Brown later apologized (sort of) on his Facebook page, saying “Sorry, I lost my mind a bit, although it was partially in jest! I did feel better though after I was done.”
