Just six days after welcoming their second daughter, country singer Randy Rogers and wife Chelsea Rogers are mourning their baby girl’s death. The devastating news was announced by The Randy Rogers Band today.

“Rumer Rain Rogers, daughter of Randy and Chelsea Rogers, passed away last night at Seton Memorial Hospital in Austin, Texas,” a band spokesperson said on Facebook. “Rumer died of natural causes, in her parents’ loving arms, just days after her birth.”

One week ago, Rumur’s birth was announced with the picture above and a post that said, “Newest member of the Rogers family, Rumer Rain. It’s a good day, friends.” They added that the 7 lb. 13 oz. baby was “happy and healthy” at birth.

However, speaking to 93Q Country, Randy said health issues soon became apparent.

“She was absolutely beautiful in every way. Her brain however was very sick. I’m sure you all have many questions and we have all the answers the doctors gave us,” he said today. “We can share the story with you. It’s quite an extraordinary one. A memorial will be planned soon.”

Randy and Chelsea suggested fans who want to pay their condolences could make a donation to a children’s charity. The band’s spokesperson added, “The family thanks you for your love and support.”

The Rogers are also parents to daughter River, who was born in 2013.
