Simon Cowell made up for lost time on Twitter by breaking his month of near-silence with a series of 17 cryptic messages this morning. Topics he felt compelled to address ranged from talking up X-Factor contestants to addressing his health. The infamously harsh critic even seemed to show a more vulnerable side as he thanked fans who “bothered following” him.
“I was a little deep tonight but it was one of those nights you realise you have a lot to be thankful for,” he wrote before concluding the spree.
But, to many of Cowell’s 6.5 million followers, the tweets seem less “deep” and more “bizarre.”
Cowell first gained popularity in the U.S. with American Idol. He also helped create the successful X-Factor and Got Talent shows. However, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. The latter two shows haven’t achieved the same kind of popularity as Idol and Cowell’s latest endeavor, Food Glorious Food, was a bona fide flop in the UK.
The TV mogul has also been pretty unlucky in love. He was previously engaged to make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy, but they split in 2012. He then dated Carmen Electra, but their relationship ended last month.
Now the 53-year-old claims to be happy and healthy… But, dude doth protest too much, methinks. What’s your take?
