Robin Thicke and Paula Patton are better than ever, he says
Even though Robin Thicke and Paula Patton have been together since their early teenage years, they aren’t in a relationship rough patch. In fact, Robin told Star Magazine this week that his marriage is better than ever.
“As a relationship progresses, you fall in love again in so many deeper ways,” said Robin, who married Paula in 2005. “You realize that you need each other and you can’t live without each other.”
Recently, some have questioned the strength of Robin and Paula’s relationship because of his raunchy performance at the VMAs and photographed butt-grab.
“My only comment about the so-called scandalous photo would be that my wife and I are perfectly in love and very happily married,” he said.
In terms of his provocative videos and performances, Robin said it’s just part of the job.
“We’re not teachers and lawyers,” he said, explaining how he will explain the videos to son Julian. “Mommy has shown her naked body for roles and Daddy has been around naked bodies, it’s just what we do… I’m sure he’ll get a little ribbing at school, but at least Mommy looks great naked and Daddy’s song was a hit!”
(Seems like a good time to throw in Robin’s 2006 music video, Lost Without U, which features Paula!)
Although he makes light of the salacious aspects of his work, Robin is dead serious when it comes to the role Paula plays in his life.
“I don’t know if I would still be alive in some ways if it wasn’t for Paula. She’s been my rock, my muse, my inspiration and I love her. The whole way,” he recently said.
