The cover story of the new Star magazine boldly proclaims “It’s Over!” for Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux. The magazine says the couple, who began dating after filming Wanderlust together in May of 2011, have called it quits (or should I say, have decided to Theroux it all away) partly because Justin refused to break off contact with his ex, New York stylist Heidi Bivens.

Justin Theroux and Heidi Bivens had been dating for 14 years (14 YEARS!) when he began filming Wanderlust (appropriate title) alongside Jennifer Aniston in 2010. Justin and Jennifer had met previously on the set of Tropic Thunder, but it wasn’t until Wanderlust that they really hit it off.
Actually, this may have been the exact moment right here:
Soon after filming ended, rumors began to spread that Jennifer and Justin had become more than just friends and that Justin’s girlfriend Heidi might be facing the same predicament Jennifer face in 2005 when her husband at the time, Brad Pitt, fell for co-star Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. (Yet another appropriate movie title!)
Heidi’s mother even spoke with E! News chief correspondent Ken Baker who revealed, “I’ve found out from Heidi Bivens’ mom, who apparently would know, that Justin has told her there is nothing going on between him and Jennifer, and that the’re just friends. It’s a big misunderstanding.”

Later it became apparent that the misunderstanding was itself a misunderstanding as Justin broke things off with Heidi, a hugely successful New York stylist by the way, to pursue Aniston.
But, according to a source for Star, the break wasn’t exactly a clean one. Justin reportedly insisted on being able to remain close with Heidi, something Jennifer was apparently not very fond of. “Heidi and Justin have been talking for months, and JEnnifer had no idea,” Star’s insider reveals. “But she started getting suspicious.” From Star:
Jen and Justin had fought about Heidi often during their relationship, and when Jen sold her New York apartment, friends believed it was an attempt to get Justin as far away from his ex as possible. But, of course, that didn’t happen.

“Now, looking back, Jen never fully trusted Justin,” a friend of the actress states. “His unresolved relationship with Heidi always nagged at her.”
The friend says Jennifer even had Justin tailed in New York just after she left and her suspicions were confirmed “because he got together with Heidi within days of Jen leaving. It seems like Justin couldn’t wait to be rid of Jen so he could cut loose.”
Justin was reportedly seen at this time at New York’s ABC Kitchen with Jake Gyllenhaal and two mystery blondes. (Pretty vague, huh?)
Justin’s “unresolved relationship” may have been a huge part of the other major issue in the relationship – his inability to commit!
The tabloid claims the beginning of the end was after a romantic trip to Paris and Rome this summer, during which Jennifer expected her beau to propose. “On their vacation, Jen expected an elaborate proposal with a big diamond ring, but Justin didn’t deliver,” a friend says. “Her heart sank after that trip. It was a huge letdown.”

Soon after returning from their European trip, Justifer was having dinner with friends at Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica on July 11 when someone began jokingly prodding Justin about when he was going to propose. Justin was reportedly very uncomfortable with the ribbing, and responded by asking, “Can we change the subject, please?”
“Jen nearly broke down in tears,” says a source present at the dinner. After leaving the restaurant, the source claims Jennifer was unable to hold back her tears and she confronted Justin when they got home, demanding “I need a commitment, and I need it now.” But “Justin sort of shrugged his shoulders and didn’t say anything,” says an insider.
Soon after, Jennifer left for North Carolina to begin filming We’re the Millers, but “before she left for North Carolina, Jen told Justin that she thought it best if they went their separate ways,” the friend added. “Justin pleaded for a second chance, but for her the love is gone.”
“Wherever she looks, Jen is getting more validations that dumping Justin was the best course of action,” says the insider. “But she is kicking herself that she gave almost two valuable years of her life to him.”
Before you get too overly saddened by Jennifer’s continued lack of success in the realm of romantic endeavors, remember that Star magazine claimed back in May that Justin was leaving Jennifer for Heidi, just after announcing in April that Jennifer was pregnant with twins and planning to get married to Justin in Greece this summer.
Gossip Cop spoke to a “source close to Theroux” who says the story is compeltely false and that Jennifer and Justin are in fact still together.
