One killed on the set of Martin Scorsese’s new film, Silence
One construction worker was killed and two more were injured on the set of Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film, Silence, when a structure collapsed last Thursday.
A spokesperson for the film told Deadline the accident occurred at CMPC Studios in Taiwan when workers were trying to reinforce an existing structure that was deemed unsafe. The killed and injured workers were hired from a third-party contractor.
“Everyone is in shock and sorrow and expresses their deepest concern and sympathy to the families of the individual who died and those who were injured,” the spokesperson said.
Silence will star Liam Neeson, Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver as 17th century priests, but is still in pre-production. According to CNN, local police are investigating to see if any laws were broken.
