Google’s visitors today will notice something wacky with no explanation: Google’s logo is spelled with two l’s today. The reason for this oddity is that today Google is celebrating it’s 11th anniversary. Google became a privately held company on September 4, 1998, so this is a belated celebration.
The Google logo looks like it’s misspelled today, but the Google logo we’re used to is also a mispelling: it’s an adaptation of the word for 100 zeros, “googol.”
