Eva Longoria graduates with a masters degree in chicano studies

Yesterday morning Eva Longoria graduated from Cal State Northridge with a master’s degree in Chicano studies! The former Desperate Housewives star started attending night classes several years ago while still working on the show.

Her thesis was titled “Success STEMS From Diversity: The Value of Latinas in STEM Careers,” and she’s already used what she’s learned to start the Eva Longoria Foundation to help foster education and entrepreneurial endeavors in Latino American women.

“In my cap and gown with mom and dad! I look like Harry Potter!” Eva wrote on Twitter. Her Desperate Housewives costars offered their support and congratulations via Twitter.

Marcia Cross: “Huge congratulations on your graduation today!!!! From Canne to Cap and Gown. You are really something. Xoxo m.”

Dana Delaney: “Congrats Eva! I remember you studying on set — that is one major accomplishment. You are living life to the fullest. xxx”

Celebs often get honorary degrees, but this one’s for real! Congrats Eva!
