On tonight’s season premiere of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting, newlywed Jill Dillard “surprises her family with a big announcement” while Ben and Jessa Seewald’s wedding “is on the horizon.” The return of the show means it’s also time for Duggar Digest, where we take a look at what the Duggars are up to currently — because Jill’s secret is now old news and Jessa has been Mrs. Seewald for three+ months!
Jill and Derick Dillard have a baby shower
Parents-to-be Jill and Derick are just about one month away from welcoming “Baby Boy Dilly.” To help the pair prepare, Derick’s co-workers at WalMart — along with some Duggars and Cathy Dillard — threw a baby shower.
“Thank you to my awesome team at work for putting on an unforgettable baby shower for Jill and me,” Derick said on Instagram. He added the hashtags #babydilly #19kids #firstbabyshowerexperience.
It looks like the expectant parents got some assorted gifts and diapers. According to their active registry, they’ve also gotten goodies ranging from an Olive Garden gift card to more practical strollers, crib beddings and a car seat.
Jessa Seewald is going on the Southern Women’s tour
Jessa — “the newest married Duggar” — announced this month that she is participating in the Southern Women’s Show in March and April. During stops in Savannah, Georgia, Memphis, Tennessee and Richmond, Virginia, Jessa will field questions from the audience about her family and marriage. Tickets are $10 for adults.
The Duggars have a snow day
Northwest Arkansas got enough snow yesterday for the Duggars to call off school for their own snow day.
“First (and probably the only) snow day of our Arkansas winter! Time for some sledding with my man,” Jessa said on Instagram. (Some commenting on the picture took the sledding as a sign that Jessa isn’t pregnant.)
After some time out in the cold, the family cozied up inside with board games, hot drinks and crafts. Even Josie, who recently had a medical emergency, got in on the fun!
