Duggar Digest: Duck Dynasty meeting at Value Voters Summit, Jessa Duggar’s thoughts on the Kardashians and Jill Dillard plans for labor
This week on 19 Kids and Counting, Jill Duggar moves on from finding her wedding dress to selecting vintage-inspired bridesmaids dresses and shoes with her sisters. Meanwhile, older brother Josh Duggar and wife Anna Duggar make a “special wedding gift” and Jim Bob Duggar oversees carpet installation at Dillard Mansion.
The Duggars meet Duck Dynasty‘s Alan Robertson at the Value Voters Conference
In real-time, the Duggars were actually on the road last week with a stop in Ohio to see Michelle’s family before continuing to Washington D.C. to attend the Value Voters Conference. The event was organized by FRC Action, the lobbying group where Josh Duggar works as Executive Director.
Oldest daughter Jana Duggar and her nephew, Marcus Duggar.
The conference brought together the top super-conservatives in the country, including Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Rick Santorum, Michelle Bachman, Ted Cruz and more. The Duggars also got the chance to rub elbows with fellow reality stars Alan and Lisa Robertson of Duck Dynasty.
The conference proves the Duggars are true conservative sweethearts — with some fairly extreme beliefs we don’t see on TLC.
For their speech at the Value Voter’s Summit, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar steered clear of most controversial topics. (Aside from a quick note about pro-life legislation on the ballot in Tennessee.) Instead, they sang a song with the kids and then talked about raising “warriors for the Lord.”
Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald share their thoughts on the Kardashians
Although the Jessa Duggar previously said they are only allowed to watch “carefully selected” episodes of The Andy Griffith Show, it seems they are at least somewhat familiar with the Kardashians. Speaking to Star last week, she said she hopes the E! reality stars strive to use their platform for good.
“It’s important for every person to realize that they have a lot of influence — it doesn’t matter who you are, you can be a positive or negative example. We should all strive to be the best example we can be,” she said when asked about the Kardashians.
Ben Seewald added, “If someone follows Jesus, they’re a good example, and if they stray from him, according to my standards, it’s less than a good example.”
Jill Dillard and Derick Dillard start planning for labor
Back in Arkansas, Jill and Derick continued to stay ahead of the pregnancy curve by researching cloth diaper options and mentally preparing for what is to come — even though they have six months before “Baby Dilly” is due.
“Writing out bible verses for encouragement during pregnancy, labor and delivery,” Jill said on Instagram and added the hashtags #scriptureboard #babydilly #pregnancyprep #blessedparents.
Wisely, it isn’t all work and no play for the expectant parents: They took their first camping trip together over the weekend. (Looks like they could have housed her whole family in the tent!)
“Tent camping this evening for the first time since we’ve been married! I love my husband @derickdillard,” Jill wrote along with the hashtags #tentcamping #soinlove #besthusbandever #weekend.
Watch the Duggar family in action on a new episode of 19 Kids and Counting, airing on TLC tonight at 9/8c.
