Country singing star Kenny Chesney leads the way with 9 ACM Award nominations. Just don’t mention that crap to William Oller Sr. of Singletown, California because he just might shoot you son. Or shoot his son!
You see William Oller Jr. (above) was relaxing at his home working on his vocals with a little Chesney karaoke when his old man stepped out of the house informing him that, “I’m gonna shut you up.” When pops returned he had a pistol and proceeded to let loose on his son with several shots. He didn’t kill him but there is still a bullet lodged in Jr.’s shoulder. Consider his sing-a-long mutin’ mission accomplished!
Here’s where the story turns from one of horror to that of a son’s unconditional love for his dad. In an interview with local affiliate KRCRTV, Ollie Jr. believes that his dad didn’t really know what he was doing and that recent strokes may have contributed to his actions. He said:
“He don’t need to spend his last days in prison or jail. He needs to spend them with his family.”
Oller Sr. was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Now that’s the stuff of a great country music classic.
