Before walking down the aisle, Charlie Sheen and fiancée Brett Rossi have one significant obstacle: She is legally married to a man named Jonathan Ross.
Radar Online originally reported on Brett’s marital status. Charlie’s rep/translator, Jeff Ballard, later confirmed to People.
“She’s been separated from this guy for two years,” the rep said. “It’s just a matter of the paperwork winding its way through the court system.”
Based on official records, Brett’s husband filed for divorce last July 18. She failed to respond until Jan. 30 — two weeks before Charlie popped the question in Hawaii. Considering Brett and her husband were only married for two years, don’t have children and seemed split amicably, the divorce proceedings should be simple.
Charlie’s rep added Brett (aka “Scottine Christen” or “Scottie”) didn’t hide her relationship from Charlie. Besides, thrice-married Charlie has the trump card.
“Charlie and Scottie have no secrets,” the rep said. “Charlie is well aware of Scottie’s situation.”
Brett, who is a model/adult film star, previously told Model Bee her husband understands and accepts her for who she is — not what she does.
“I’m with a trusting, smart, caring individual that makes me feel comfortable to be whoever I want to me without having any insecurities,” she said, adding she can’t stand insecure and dramatic men. She also said she hoped to retire within three years to become a registered nurse.
