Teen Mom OG star Tyler Baltierra came under fire this week after MTV released a new preview trailer for the show in which he exclaimed “I don’t want no heifer for a wife!” while talking with his wife Catelynn about the possibility of her doing Weight Watchers again. When a producer had a shocked reaction, Tyler’s response was: “I’m just being honest! Would you want to be married to some big heifer?”
Tyler received a lot of criticism on social media for the clip, and he defended himself by pointing out that he and Catelynn have a very open relationship in which they are able to “communicate without sugar coating.” Here are some of Tyler’s initial tweets:

Tyler then seems to admit that he was wrong to say what he did, and he reveals that he is currently in therapy to learn how to communicate better:

After a couple days of more criticism, Tyler returned and tried to have a little fun by embracing the negativity — and Catelynn joined him! (I should point out, for those of you who haven’t seen the video, that Catelynn was eating a chicken and cheese quesadilla at the time of Tyler’s comments.)
