Joan Rivers was rushed to a New York City hospital this morning after she stopped breathing during an outpatient procedure on her vocal chords.
In an emergency phone call transcribed by TMZ, the caller said, “We have somebody in either cardiac or respiratory arrest.”
The 81-year-old Fashion Police host was then transported to Manhattan’s Mount Sinai Hospital. Her current condition is unknown. Daughter Melissa Rivers is reportedly rushing to the hospital, likely from her home in California.
UPDATE TMZ reports the comedienne’s heart also stopped beating for a period of time. She is currently in critical condition.
UPDATE No. 2 E!, home of Fashion Police, says Joan’s condition has been upgraded to stable.
