Get the details on Married At First Sight’s third season

Married At First Sight Feature

After a controversial second season that ended with three divorces, multiple cheating reports, and one restraining order, FYI still went forward with Married At First Sight‘s third season. The episodes, with six new hopeless romantics (and/or aspiring reality stars), will premiere on FYI in December.

As with the first two seasons, the couples were matched by sexologist Dr. Logan Levkoff, psychologist Dr. Joseph Cilona, sociologist Dr. Pepper Schwartz, and spiritual advisor Greg Epstein before each couple met at the altar to say “I do.” However, unlike their predecessors, the new cast is based in Atlanta.

Not much more official information is available at this point, but we do have some small spoilers: An inside source said in mid-June that the weddings happened on June 5, 6 and 7. Before that, production company Kinetic Content appealed to locals who “exhausted all options to find love” and were willing to do the “radical social experiment.” Under compensation, the talent page says “PAID!!!!”

It’s unclear whether producers addressed any of the concerns that arose during the second season — specifically, those about how vetted the participants were, and whether the men were tested for STDs. The insider said casting was conducted the same way, which is why that person vowed to never work for the network again.

Even though none of the couples from the third season stayed together, there were some great matches… Davina Kullar, Jessica Castro and Jaclyn Methuen really hit it off and continue to have girls’ nights. Two of the couples from the first season — Cortney Hendrix and Jason Carrion, Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner — are also still together. Their relationships are featured in the new season of Married At First Sight: The First Year, which is currently airing on FYI on Tuesdays at 9/8c.

Married At First Sight‘s third season premieres on FYI on Dec. 1 at 9/8c.
