Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans recently finalized her split from former fiance Nathan Griffith and is in the early stages of moving on — literally. She has relocated back to North Carolina where she will be closer to her son Jace, and two hours away from Nathan. Actually, this weekend she is 2,400 miles away from her ex as she has accepted MTV’s invitation to appear at the 2015 Video Music Awards — alongside her mom Barbara!
Jenelle landed in Los Angeles ahead of her mom on Friday, and her arrival was documented by the paparazzi. The 23-year-old reality star seemed like a veteran LAX catwalker in a stylish outfit that included a high-waisted black miniskirt and peek-a-belly sleeveless gray top. Jenelle finished off the airport chic ensemble with a couple of bags, a jacket (or blanket or dress bag?), flip flops and, of course, a pink neck pillow:
Later on Friday, Jenelle changed outfits and went with a pair of denim cut-off shorts and a black tank as she headed to Bellami Beauty Bar for some hair extensions:

In an interview with TooFab’s Brian Particelli on Friday (included at the bottom of this post), Jenelle confirmed that her mom Barbara “Babs” Evans is coming to Los Angeles and would be attending the VMAs with her. Jenelle also revealed that she still had multiple red carpet outfit options and had yet to decide.
We spoke with Jenelle earlier today and got all new updates on her VMA weekend plans, including details on her red carpet look and Babs’ arrival. “Yes I have decided what I’m wearing,” Jenelle tells us of her VMA outfit, adding, “it’s beautiful!”
So what about Babs? “My mom just got here today,” Jenelle says. She says she and Babs are planning on “having a nice Italian dinner” with “no kids for both of us.” Jenelle points out that it is the “first trip ever where both of us are kid free.” At the time we spoke to her, Jenelle says she and Babs were about to go hiking. “Hike! Hike! Ya both hiking!!” (That’s our made up Babs quote.)
Jenelle tackled the obvious question by telling us that her childhood friend is watching Kaiser while her “other friend and old landlord” is watching Jace for Barbara.
Jenelle also confirms that Babs will be walking the red carpet with her. “It will be crazy for her, all glammed up and stuff,” Jenelle told TooFab of Babs’ red carpet debut. Here is our prediction of what Barbara Evans strutting the VMA red carpet will look like:
As far as being at the VMAs herself, Jenelle tells TooFab, “I’m really excited for [fans] to see that side of me, and I’m really excited just to be attending and to meet different people and network and stuff.”
And who is she most looking forward to seeing? Host Miley Cyrus! “I’m a very big Miley fan,” Jenelle said in her interview, which most of us already knew. So what about her infamous admiration for Ke$ha? “I still keep up with Ke$ha, but at the same time I just — I’ve listened to Miley Cyrus ever since she was on Hannah Montana, but I never watched Hannah Montana. I’ve only listened to her music outside of that. I just really like her as an artist, and the music she writes — just the lyrics in her music is amazing.”

The Ashley’s Reality Roundup reported earlier this month that Jenelle’s co-stars Chelsea Houska, Leah Messer, and Kailyn Lowry were also invited, as well as their exes Adam Lind, Corey Simms, and Jo Rivera; but of all of those only Adam and Jo were planning (at the time) to make the trip. We asked Jenelle if she knew whether either of them were still attending. “I have no idea,” she said with an lol.
So what about pre-parties and other events surrounding the VMAs? “I’m going to an event tonight for Busta Rhymes,” Jenelle says. No word if Babs will tag along.
Meanwhile, Jenelle took some time out today to soak up some rays on the beach at Malibu. She just shared this RECTANGULAR INSTAGRAM PHOTO 
of herself at the beach sporting a bikini:
And Jenelle tweeted the photo at the top of this post wearing a bikini and chillaxin’ with Babs in Malibu along with the caption, “We are both kid free for once in our life! Cheers

To conclude her interview with TooFab, Jenelle answers whether or not she has a message for fans concerned about her well-being. “I just want to tell everyone I’m happy,” Jenelle says. “I’m good. I’m calm now. And I started out fresh, and if I went through everything that I can go through and still graduate with all the drama I dealt with in between while going to school, they can definitely do it too.”
