Tamra Barney and Gretchen Rossi made up at the beginning of the seventh season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, and by the end of the year they were nearly besties. But recently Tamra gave an interview to AllAboutTRH in which she revealed she and Gretchen had some issues while filming Season 8 — oh, and that Gretchen “sucked” at singing. “Have you heard her sing?” she asked. Needless to say, Gretchen wasn’t happy about the jab and released a statement of her own in response, revealing how hurtful Tamra’s words had been. Now, Tamra is back for round three!
Ding, ding, ding!
Tamra spoke with AllThingsRH and she’s not backing off from her comments, despite her earlier alleged texts to Gretchen suggesting her words had been manipulated by AllAboutTRH. (The site made it clear that the conversation was not altered in any substantial way, and that they had the recordings to prove it.)
So what does Tamra have to say for her self? “I didn’t really question our friendship so much. I just said we had a few issues during filming, we remained friends and worked through them. I never made fun of her business, that was something she made up.” Gretchen, being the entrepreneur that she is, has a lot of things going on as far as her business goes. She has her own makeup line as well as a collection of handbags and on her official website, she sells everything from watches to dog t-shirts. However, the business Gretchen was likely referring to was her singing career. That is what Tamra bashed — is it not?
“I did comment on her singing when asked,” Tamra admitted. “You know I am not one to sugar coat my answers. Other than Kandi Burruss, who is a professional singer, I don’t think any of the housewives/turned singer can sing that well. That’s just my opinion.” As Brandi Glanville would say, “Welcome to the United States of America!” We all have opinions and sadly for Gretchen, Tamra’s is that she’s not her #1 fan.
“I thought the way Gretchen handled the situation was wrong. She ran to the press with an overly dramatic statement, she should of talked to me first,” Tamra continued. “I never meant to hurt her feelings. When it all went down she texted me (for 4 hours ) but I was extremely busy working at the studio and juggling kids, that I didn’t have time to get on the phone with her to explain and by the morning she had released her statement.” Tamra made no mention of the text messages Gretchen said Tamra sent about having her words taken out of context by the site.
Since the incident occurred, the two have not spoken, but according to Tamra, she’s planning on “talking to her in person like an adult.” It’ll be interesting to see what Gretchen’s next move will be. Will she release the text messages from Tamra? Round 4 should be coming soon, so stay tuned.
