What do you get when two of the best-known celebrities pose together for a picture posted to one of the most-followed Instagram accounts? The most-liked photo of the year.
Justin Bieber shared the picture of him and “Uncle Will” (aka, Will Smith) with his 12 million followers in August. Approximately 1-in-10 of those followers have since liked the photo… resulting in 1.5 million total likes, which was enough to help him beat out other socially active celebrities to nab the top spot.
Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom revealed the best-liked photo on Today this morning. He also shared interesting other facts on the social sharing platform’s most-Instagrammed locations (Siam Paragon, Times Square and Disneyland), most-Instagrammed cities (New York City, Bangkok and Los Angeles) and most commonly used hashtags (#love, #selfie and #tbt). The most Instagrammed day of 2013 was Thanksgivingukkah.
