MTV casting new seasons of 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom

MTV casting for new season of 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom 4

It has been almost 3 years since MTV aired its last episode of their groundbreaking docuseries 16 & Pregnant, which launched 3 Teen Mom franchises and thousands of tabloid headlines. After a couple of reported failed attempts to bring the show back over the last few years, MTV has just issued an official casting call for a brand new season of 16 & Pregnant! Interestingly, the network is also casting for a new season of Teen Mom.

Here’s the official post from MTV with information on how to apply:

MTV is CASTING NOW for a new season of “16 and Pregnant”

MTV is casting for the thought-provoking documentary series “16 and Pregnant.” This series follows the journeys of young women as they face unexpected pregnancies and navigate the difficulties of becoming parents at a young age.

Our goal is to give viewers a look inside the realities of teen pregnancy — from morning sickness and balancing school responsibilities to navigating incredibly difficult decisions and relationships with boyfriends and/or parents, ultimately to the day of the baby’s arrival and beyond. MTV is looking for young women from varying backgrounds who are facing an unplanned pregnancy and would like to share their personal story about this life-changing and complicated journey.

If you would like to share your story in order to raise awareness about this issue, please email us as soon as possible at 16andPregnantCasting2017@gmail.com. Include the city and state you live in and the reason why you’d like to share your story as part of “16 and Pregnant.”

Applicants must be at least 16 years of age as of February 1, 2017 to apply.

As I mentioned, MTV is also looking for young mothers with children between the ages of 4 and 7 to feature on a new season of Teen Mom. I assume this is there way to address the common complaint that the stars of Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2 do not represent struggling teen mothers given that they are now celebrities that make A LOT of money just being on TV. It is a nearly impossible problem to get around for the network given the traditional 16 & Pregnant then Teen Mom route, so they appear to be skipping right to the Teen Mom part.

Here’s the casting call for that:

MTV is Casting Now for a new season of Teen Mom

MTV is casting for a new season of the thought-provoking documentary series Teen Mom. This hit series follows the journeys of strong-willed and opinionated women who faced an unexpected pregnancy as a teen and now, in their early 20’s, are navigating the difficulties of raising a child.

Our goal is to give viewers a look inside the realities of motherhood — from balancing school and/or work responsibilities to navigating incredibly difficult decisions and relationships with boyfriends and parents.

MTV is looking for young mothers from diverse backgrounds who had children in their late teens and those children are now between the ages of 4 and 7; who would like to share their dramatic personal stories about their complicated journeys.

If you are outspoken, unfiltered and funny, we want to hear from you! Please email us as soon as possible at MTVTeenMom2017@gmail.com. Include the city and state you live in, your contact details, a picture and the reason why you’d like to share your story as part of the Teen Mom series.

Applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Applicants should appear to be between the ages of 16 and 25.

MTV has two other active casting calls looking for young mothers and young mothers to be — it’s unclear if they are just disguised casting calls for 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom, or if these are entirely different shows:

Are you and your friends young and/or expectant mothers?

MTV is now casting for a dynamic group of young and/or expecting mothers to share their experiences with young motherhood. This group of friends (and/or acquaintances) should live in the same area and have a genuine connection with one another. We want to showcase outgoing young women who are experiencing the joys and challenges of raising children alongside other young mothers, while juggling relationships, friendships, and family.

Please email us as soon as possible at MTVgroupcasting@gmail.com. Include:

– your contact details and the city and state you all live in

Put: GROUP CASTING in the subject line and explain why your group would be perfect for this docu-series.

Applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Applicants should appear to be between the ages of 16 and 25.

Are you and your friends all young moms AND in college?

MTV is now casting for a dynamic group of mothers and/or expecting mothers who are currently attending college. This group of college moms or moms-to-be should have a genuine connection with each other and must want to share their experiences about young motherhood. We want to showcase outgoing women who are experiencing the joys and challenges of raising children alongside other mothers, while juggling school, relationships, friendships, and family.

Please email us as soon as possible at MTVgroupcasting@gmail.com. Include:

– your contact details and the city and state you all live in

Put: GROUP CASTING/COLLEGE in the subject line and explain why your group would be perfect for this docu-series.

Applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Applicants should appear to be between the ages of 16 and 25.

So will you be tuning in for 16 & Pregnant Season 6? How about Teen Mom 4 with moms (and dads) that are actually struggling financially? I confess that I am intrigued!

Is MTV really that stupid? Clearly the first few franchises haven’t worked. except for maybe in Chelsea’s favour. But not really. Cut ties with the show. Or change the title to “twenty year old moms who are still making just as bad choices as they did at 16”.

  • Kail’s Fake Ass

WHY?!! MTV has to know all the stupid 16 year olds out there are going to go out and get pregnant over this. Come onnn, they all want to be like Jenelle! And be famous on teen mom! This is actually insane.

    • NancyJoThisIsAlexis

I agree that this is stupid, but let’s be real, if a 16-year-old goes and gets pregnant just for the chance to be on MTV, she probably wasn’t exactly on the fast track to success anyway

      • TimM

But why even run the risk of contributing to the destruction of not only a young adult, but a baby?

        • Kail’s Fake Ass

Exactly my point. Too many stupid girls in this world. Teen pregnancy will spike at the chance to live like these girls, then they will regret it when they aren’t one of the like, 10 to be picked.

  • L

No more of this show please.

    To raise awareness, that’s hysterical.

  • Bruja

    Jesus God, MTV.

    • TimM

      Right. Screw MTV…

  • Alisson Leech

Go for it girls! Go get rich. Lol

Maybe bc all these teen mom 2 girls refuse to film practically everything now. Kail has refused to film so many times this season.. listen Kail, reAL world jobs you cannot just refuse to do things and expect a hefty pay check. These girls are purchasing homes, driving these expensive vehicles and taking extravagant trips… that is not real world teen moms who are now adults, that is not even some real world college educated women. As a nurse, with two kids, I couldn’t dream of making the money they do. They have turned into a very spoiled and ignorant group. One thing I can say about Chelsea, she has definitely grown up and moved on with her life… But, her baby talk really gets annoying though.
I hope when they cast this next round of girls, they don’t create such spoiled and oblivious people.

Leave their new born behind, fly first class with the soulmate of the moment to the after show, have MTV wine and dine them in a nice hotel and refuse to work. Thanks for the city trip MTV, we really needed a break from our kids. How to make a complete fool of yourself and show the court and world you can’t behave like an adult.
I don’t get why their contracts allow this kind of sh..

  • FrontDoorMom

Can i have a show? Life about being a single mom with two kids and my house always looks like a disaster and im living pay check to paycheck? That sounds more realistic.

    • ChelseaHouskasEyebrows

I didn’t know you were single. You go girl! Been there, 2 little kids, 3 jobs, car up for repo and deciding which utility I’d skip to buy groceries. It was hard. Hold on though because it does get better. Every day when I wanted to wallow in pity I just looked at their little faces and knew I couldn’t give up.

      • FrontDoorMom

Yes ma’m i am and times are hard. My youngest will be 3 in 2 wks and no bday this yr :( ughh im waiting for things to get better. One day things will be good. Til then, gotta bust my booty for my babies.

        • ChelseaHouskasEyebrows

They will be good. It took awhile but I got back on my feet. One of my best memories of being single was a Christmas I thought was going to be terrible. I’d saved money and rented us a nice house but I had no furniture and hardly any money. I bought the kids gifts used off Craigslist. My then 4 year old walked down the hallway and was amazed and woke me up and said mommy Santa actually came!!! Best moment ever.

          • FrontDoorMom

            Awwww 😢 man thats amazing.

  • TrashTV

Aaah… contract negotiation season has officially been opened again. Lots of cast members do everything to get media attention and now MTV is hanging a Teen Mom casting over their heads to remind them, they are easily replaced.
Maybe some of them don’t want to sign for another season. Chelsea maybe, as Cole is not such a fan?

  • TimM

F*^( MTV…..they just glorify bad behavior and help form crappy people who don’t even properly take care of their kids. I can’t wait until some of these kids are teenagers and straight screwed up…..Look at Farrah….and Kail….what a mess.

  • theStevieJBus

MTV needs to stop acting like Teen mom is doing some service to the community. It is nothing but the millennial version on the real housewives. And even if they find “struggling” teen moms once they start cashing those MTV checks they will be no different from Farrah, Amber, Kailyn ect…

  • Leah’s Cold Canned Soup

” Applicants should appear to be between the ages of 16 and 25.”

    Rather odd wording there.

    • Adi Nu

MTV has no shame. The authenticity of all its shows are gone, Catfish went down the drain after the second season.
