Amy Duggar is blaming ‘crafty editing’ for making the alleged abuse claims she made against her father seem worse than they actually were.

Marriage Boot Camp previously released a teaser video in which Amy stated that a male family member had assaulted her by lifting her up by the throat. Before the airing of Friday night’s episode, speculation swirled around who it might have been.

During a counseling session aired on the most recent MBC, the niece of 19 and Counting stars Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar said:

“When I was 6, my dad was watching me, and he picked me up by my throat. My dad was like, ‘Amy, did you brush your teeth?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, Daddy!’ And he was like, ‘No, you didn’t,’ and he picked me up by my throat, all the way up to the ceiling, and I was scared sh**less.”

In the following clip Amy was asked to role play and the show’s counselor went full Good Will Hunting as he explained that the abuse wasn’t her fault:

Amy Duggar went on to explain that this alleged abuse has made it hard for her to trust men, adding that her dad never apologized.

She went on to accuse her dad of trying to run her over with a car, or so it seemed anyways. “I’ve seen things thrown in the air. I’ve been called every name in the book. He tried to run me over with a car. It scared me out of my mind,” she said.

Amy took to Twitter to express her dismay over the way the editing of the show was misleading:

Amy’s paternal grandmother, Lenora Jordan, told Radar that Amy’s claims were lies. She said, “None of that stuff is true. Amy just felt like she needed to be on that show, and needed something to tell.”
